Oklahoma State Trooper Rapes 3 Women

State Trooper Eric Roberts was arrested September 15th, 2014, for kidnapping, rape and other crimes, against 3 women.

State Trooper Eric Roberts
Seems like Oklahoma is having issues with their State Troopers! Another officer, Daniel Holtzclaw, previously had raped 8 women while on duty… In Eric Robert's case, there were cameras… But what good will they do, when an officer can turn off their dashboard camera and microphone from their uniform? Sure enough, that's what he did!

This brings us to the question: are cameras for just the police's benefit? Shouldn't these videos be mandatory for all officers and shouldn't they NOT have an OFF SWITCH? Seems to us that a video constantly ON, will track the person's action and or the trooper's behavior. It's ridiculous to try to make out what exactly happens in a crime, when evidence can be tampered with or not shown at all.

Just as civilians are video taped, so should police officers or State Troopers like Eric Roberts and Daniel Holtzclaw. Especially when they rape women! Let's do it right. Presently, police have the upper hand… and sometimes their hands can also commit crimes as well.

Are Stun Guns Legal in My State?

We come across many customers that aren't sure how authority in their neck of the woods, feel about stun guns. We hope the following information will answer this very important self defense question.
United States of America Map from Wikipedia

Before we get into the legalities, lets just make sure we all understand that a stun gun is not the same as a Taser. Citizen Tasers shoot 2 probes, attached to a wire with electricity, that reaches a criminal and disables them. A Stun Gun also disables a criminal with electricity. But it doesn't shoot probes 15 feet away. With this weapon, you have to be at arm's length and touch the person with it, in order to disable them.

Most States in the USA, allow the use of stun guns for self defense, but there are a few that don't and consider the use of them a felony.

THE STATES that currently don't allow these devices are:
  • HAWAII
  • ILLINOIS - Carrying is OK if you have an FOID card
  • MASSACHUSETTS
  • MICHIGAN - Will be legal to carry sometime in August
  • NEW JERSEY
  • NEW YORK
  • RHODE ISLAND
  • WISCONSIN - OK for a CCW licensee or an out-of-state licensee
  • US VIRGIN ISLANDS

Some States actually allow stun guns to be used by citizens but have cities in which they are absolutely illegal to use.

THE CITIES that currently don't allow these devices are:
Keychain Stun Gun, In Pink or Black

  • ANNAPOLIS, MD
  • BALTIMORE, MD
  • BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD
  • CHICAGO, IL
  • DENSION/CRAWFORD COUNTY, IA
  • DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
  • PHILADELPHIA
The above pretty much summarizes the legalities for the use of stun guns in self defense, within our country. The information provided is as it presently stands. As noted above, there can be future changes. If you have any other questions regarding citizens and these devices, please feel free to contact us!

Is Pepper Spray Legal in My State?

We get this question asked many times from people that visit our  WomenOnGuard website. This is a very important question because you can be fined by a law enforcement officer for possessing a self defense spray if it is illegal in your state!

Fortunately pepper spray or mace is legal in most of the United States of America, including Hawaii and Puerto Rico. But there are some states that it is absolutely not allowed and some states that pepper spray and mace is allowed but with some restrictions.

It is forbidden to buy pepper spray or mace from our website in the State of New York. Which is not to say that you can't carry it. You can buy pepper spray from within the state, but not from another state such as ours in Florida! It is New York's way of keeping track of which citizens carry it. You can buy it in New York from a licensed pharmacist or a firearms dealer. However, it IS LEGAL to buy on our website, dog pepper spray and bear pepper spray for New York. Massachusetts also has similar restrictions, but you can only buy it in that state through a firearms dealer. It is not available through pharmacists.

Michigan and Wisconsin are states that also have certain restrictions. To read these, and restrictions on stun devices, such as Tasers, stun guns, stun batons, cell phone stun guns and other disguised stun guns, go to the State Restrictions page of our website.

Should I Carry Pepper Spray?

Yes you should! Your life may depend on it. With the increase in crime today, pepper spray, stun guns, tasers and personal alarms are becoming increasingly popular to thwart off a would-be assailant. It is estimated that at least 15,000,000 American's now carry personal defense sprays, the majority of which are OC pepper sprays.

Law abiding citizens are realizing that they have to depend on devices like these to protect themselves and their families. There are around 40 manufacturers of pepper spray, who offer various sizes, formulations and spray types.

Pepper sprays normally come in aerosol type containers, some no larger than a tube of lipstick. Some are small enough to attach to a key chain. Some are disguised as a pager or baton. Most of these sprays can be fired several times and have a range between 8 and 20 feet, depending on model and size.

Remember, all activations will reduce the contents of the canister; smaller capacity models will therefore need to be replaced every 9-12 months if these testing procedures are adhered to. Always check manufacturers testing and replacement recommendations.

If you have to use your pepper spray in self-defense, make sure that you have some distance between you and your attacker if possible. You don't want the spray to affect you. Aim the spray at the eyes and facial region of the attacker, then release a 1 to 2 second burst of spray. After you have done this move away, but watch the attacker carefully as you do so. By watching the reactions of your attacker you will be able to tell if a further burst of spray is required. Remember spray and move, spray and move. Once the attacker has been incapacitated, seek help and call the police.

Most pepper sprays have a shelf life of 3-4 years although some expire after two years. The expiry date should be marked on the canister. Any use of the spray beyond the expiry date is HIGHLY unadvisable. Your life may depend on it working properly. Although the spray will work indefinitely, it will loose its potency over time.

Sprays should be tested right after purchase and then every 90 days. Fire the canister in half-second bursts. Testing must always be done outside. Make sure that the wind is blowing from behind you.

Pepper spray is legal to carry in most states. There are however, some states that have restrictions on pepper spray. Please check with your local and state law enforcement officials for restrictions and legality in your area.

Pepper Spray Laws And Restrictions

What is pepper spray? Pepper spray is a chemical compound that irritates the eyes which causes pain and temporary blindness to incapacitate an attacker. It is also used as a bear deterrent. The active ingredient in pepper spray is OC or oleoresin capsicum. The OC is derived from Cayenne peppers, some of the hottest peppers in the world. OC is a reddish-orange, oily liquid, insoluble in water. The OC agent is dispersed by the aerosol in a number of spray patterns depending on the model.

In 1928, two Americans, Ben Carson and Roger Staughton discovered CS. Hence, the use of the first initial of each of their last names. CS or 2-chlorobenzalmalononitrile is a non-lethal chemical substance used as a riot control agent known as tear gas.

Pepper spray is legal in all 50 states, however some cities and states have restrictions, regulated or are prohibited by law. Pepper sprays, by law, cannot be shipped by air. There are various sizes and formulations of pepper spray. Defensive sprays can only be purchased by persons 18 years of age and older.

In New York, you can only purchase pepper spray or other defensive sprays from licensed Firearms Dealers or licensed Pharmacists.

In the state of Massachusetts, residents can only purchase pepper spray or any other defensive sprays from licensed Firearms Dealers.

In Michigan, pepper spray is to be no stronger than 2%. CS is the only tear gas allowed and can be no larger than 35 grams per can. Combination sprays are prohibited.

In Wisconsin, only pepper is legal and OC no stronger than a 10% solution. The pepper spray can is not to be any larger than 60 grams and must have a safety feature. No tear gas, UV dye or combination sprays allowed.

Never use Pepper Spray unless you feel you are threatened or you need to protect someone else. Improper use of a defensive spray may result in criminal action. You could be sued or in some states fined up to $1000 or imprisoned up to 3 years.

These are the latest restrictions we have found on pepper spray restrictions during our research. It may not be completely accurate. We make no claim to legality or responsibility to changes that may have occurred or that are in the process of occurring. Please check with your local authorities or jurisdiction for restrictions and legality.
