A Female Student Alleges Being Raped At The University Of Oregon By Three Male Students

We are placing this information, not because it's something new, but because it happens all the time at colleges and universities and it's wrong!

University of Oregon
It's sad, but true that rapes or sexual assaults are much more prevalent in college campuses than anywhere else in our society. So it's no surprise that the University Of Oregon dragged their feet when a female student declared that she was allegedly raped by 3 male basketball players of the university. The University of Oregon waited 7 weeks to finally take action and it was only a suspension. This was after many students protested on campus regarding the sexual assaults!

As you all know, sports is very important in most American universities and this one, made sure to keep it's basketball players on the team, during "March Madness". Plus, to make it even more ironic, one of the 3 accused players was actually expelled for rape, from Providence College in Rhode Island! This was before he transferred to the University of Oregon.

Sexual assaults should NEVER happen in colleges or universities and students that are accused of it, especially more than once, should be expelled immediately. Not just suspended temporarily... Colleges need to focus more on education instead of sports such as basketball. Hopefully in the end, these 3 basketball players will be kicked out forever, if found guilty!

Universities Not Taking Rape Claims Seriously

Is your daughter going to college this year or has she been attending? It might be in your daughter's best interest, to find out how her university goes about sexual assault claims.

Top American universities have too many women sexually assaulted.

Many public colleges, including some of the best USA ones, don't seem to take rape seriously. It looks like 5 out of the 25 listed by Forbes recently in 2013, as Top-Notch, failed when it came to sexual assault cases.

West Point:
Rugby team disbanded for email chain w/derogatory remarks toward women... Females (at least a dozen), video taped in showers... University sued for failing to prosecute students accused of committing rape.

University of California, Berkeley:
The campus was accused of not reporting campus crimes accurately, according to the Clery Act.

Unites States Naval Academy:
3 Football players for the Academy were charged in June, for raping women.

University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill:
A Title IX complaint was filed by 3 women, with OCR, regarding them and 64 other students assaulted... Dean pressured to underreport sexual assault cases... A female student was punished for intimidating her rapist, by the university's Office of Student Conduct.

University of Colorado, Boulder:
A filed Title IX complaint was given to the university.

The list goes on and on... There was even a female student at the University of Southern California who was told by campus officials and police, that she wasn't raped, because the alleged attacker, didn't have an orgasm!

If you think that the middle east has problems regarding women being raped, think again! According to RAINN (Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network), every 2 minutes, someone gets raped in our own country. Sexual assault rates in colleges are even higher!

Prepare For Your Child's Safety In College, In Advance!

It's never too soon to make sure that your daughter or son can defend themselves from crime, when they attend college or a university.

Protect your daughter or son from crime in colleges or universities, by buying a door brace, window alarm and a stun gun.
Before you go shopping for the basics, such as notebooks, backpacks or writing utensils, consider your child's safety first. We all know that college or universities are not the safest places in our society, anymore. In fact, national news has taught us of the contrary. Plus, it's a known fact that more women or girls get raped in college, than anywhere else in our society! Boys are also victims of bullying or theft!

This is why we developed 3 special self defense college or university packages. One of them in particular is called the College Dorm Safety Package. It consists of a door brace, a window or door alarm and a 5 Million volt stun gun. The Door Brace works in both sliding doors and regular doors. The Window Alarm doesn't require wiring and it's a no brainer to install. And finally, the Keychain Stun Gun 5 Million Volts, will protect your child from attackers with powerful takedown power. Just the sound it makes, will deter anyone from approaching your daughter or son. It is available in black or pink! PLUS, if you purchase the pink stun gun, a portion of the proceeds goes to fight BREAST CANCER!

You might also consider 2 other self defense university packages: College Safety Package and the College Self Defense Package. Plus there is another one called the New York Safety Package, which is great for the city and for higher education facilities, that don't allow stun devices on campus.

Send your daughter or son to a higher education facility or university, knowing that they are physically protected, as well as exceptionally educated.

A Must Have for College Women!

It's a known fact that college women are 4 times more likely to be sexually assaulted than other women. With this in mind, college students and particularly female college students, need some sort of self defense product. Let's face it, most women do not have a black belt in karate and we are, physically speaking, the weakest sex.

Parents should be aware of the dangers presented to their daughters when they live in a college dorm or live near a college campus. The news is full of sexual assaults of college women and to a lesser degree, even male students. Just this past month prior to spring break, the college women attending Kansas State University and the University of Kansas, were warned by Kansas police of a serial rapist. They were informed of a rapist that is still on the loose near the universities, that has sexually assaulted 13 women in the past 8 years. The police informed university students before spring break because apparently this rapist attacks during college breaks. This is not to say that rapes or sexual assaults only occur during breaks though!

Arming college women or students in general with self defense products is a simple solution to a potentially lethal situation. Non lethal, self defense products are inexpensive and are made to conveniently be carried by a person. They are light, some have belt clips or key chains for fast retrieval and proven effective in deterring attackers or impairing them. It's a good idea to ask the student what type of self defense product they would like to carry, since every student has their particular needs and tastes as far as what they might feel comfortable carrying around campus.

There are a variety of self defense products on the market today. Among them are pepper spray, personal alarms, stun guns and yes even a citizen taser, such as the TASER C2! Many self defense products come disguised as other things. For example there is a pepper spray that looks like a pen and one that is disguised as a pager. There are stun guns that look like cell phones and some that are as small as a cigarette box. Some self defense products have extra features added to them. An example of this are stun guns that also have flashlights and built-in alarms! There is even a great product for protection in college dorms, a door stop product which has a built-in alarm, to let a student know that someone is trying to walk into their room. As you can see, there are many options available for each particular student. A student that carries a back pack, might want to carry a taser in it where as another student might feel more comfortable carrying pepper spray or a personal alarm.

Whether you have a daughter or a son in college or know someone that does, keep in mind that they not only need to study but they also need to stay safe.

Police Warn KSU and KU Students of Serial Rapist

University of Kansas and Kansas State University students have been warned by police that the 13 rapes, which occurred in the last 8 years near both campuses, is believed to have been committed by the same man. Female students of both universities are very nervous about the alert. While many women have heard of these rapes, a few had thought it was just an urban legend.

Both universities are informing their female students about the rapist and how to take precautions. Information has been sent via email and through the university websites. Making students aware of where the emergency buttons are around the campuses, giving advice on avoiding dangerous situations and teaching self defense classes are just a few of the things being provided by university officials. There is even a student group called, Wildcats Against Rape that distribute pamphlets around campus and off campus about rape prevention. They also have their own website within the Kansas State University website.

Police have sent out an alert to inform the students and the public in general that the rapist has a habit of committing his rapes during breaks in school sessions, such as spring break. Past victims of the rapist have given details to police in regards to his actions, appearance, etc. They claimed that their rapist was a white male, mid-20s, weighing from 180 to 220 pounds and is about 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall. They also mentioned that the rapist was armed and in some cases wore dark clothing, gloves and boots. He broke into their homes while they were sleeping. There are also accounts that there was no forced entry of the rapist into the homes, which indicates that he perhaps snuck in during the day while doors were unlocked and later attacked his victims.

On a CNN article, Kansas State Women’s Center Director, Mary Todd, mentioned that she has worked with some of the victims and has learned from their accounts that there was often no sign of forced entry. This has led her to believe that the rapist entered residences during the day, when a lot of students feel safe leaving doors unlocked. By emphasizing such details, she said, the center hopes students will keep their doors locked.

Due to these terrible occurrences at both the University of Kansas and Kansas State University, I contacted the Kansas State Women’s Center, Director, Mary Todd. I asked Mary if the center would accept pepper spray donations from our website, WomenOnGuard.com. I mentioned that we, at WomenOnGuard.com donate on a regular basis to women’s crisis centers or to a similar cause around the nation. Mary was very grateful and accepted the website’s donation. I informed her that WomenOnGuard.com sells Mace spray, pepper spray, stun guns, personal alarms and Tasers, along with other non-lethal, self defense products. I also let her know that the website also contains many safety tips that can be downloaded in a PDF file.

It’s unfortunate that young university women have to not only worry about their grades while attending school but also have to withstand the dangers of being raped or killed. It’s tough enough to keep the grades up and even tougher to watch out for your own life. We hope that our pepper spray donation will help to keep these women safer.
