Did You Hear About Abby Wambach & Her Abuse of Drugs?

One of the best female soccer players in the world, Abby Wambach, came out on Tuesday about her struggles with alcohol and prescription drugs.

I'm a big fan of female soccer players and this news just blew me away... You hear about this or that male athlete taking drugs... But when you are a fan of the "American Women's Soccer Team" and find out that one of your best female players, Abby Wambach, was addicted to alcohol and prescription drugs... Well, your enthusiasm just dwindles down to a small turd!

The good news is that she is fighting her addictions and seems to be concurring them. My hope is that other athletes can learn from her mistake and not become addicted to alcohol, prescription or any other kind of dreadful drugs. I realize that sometimes it's hard to maintain your image as an incredible athlete, but it's not worth it, when it can possibly take you six feet under!

Another Teacher Accused Of Sexual Assault With A Minor

A 22 year old teacher, Jackson Hedrick, was arrested for having sexual relations with a 14 year old female student, considered a minor.

Jackson Hedrick, a social studies teacher at Irving Middle School had intimate relations, private messages with indecent text and purchased alcohol for an underage, 14 year old female student. He was arrested on March 17th.

Investigations also confirmed sexual contact with the female student, so the teacher, Jackson Hedrick, was also charged with 1st degree sexual assault felony.

Dr. Susette Taylor, the Principal of the school discussed the sexual assault incident of the minor in a press conference and also notified parents of the sexual assault. She also mentioned that the accused has been placed on administrative leave and is not permitted to enter school property.

Neuroscientist Explains That Sex's Brains Are The Same

Lately there has been many articles stating that the male brain is different from the female one. But this newest information sounds more accurate. What do you think?

Most information recently, regarding the male and female brain differences, has pretty much stated that there are big differences between the two sexes. But Neuroscientist Professor Georgina Rippon has come up with an explanation which pretty much concludes that both sex's brains are the same.

Professor Georgina Rippon informs that the brains of the sexes has been formed by our society's patterns of upbringing children. Girls playing with dolls and boys with trucks. At first, both brains are the same, but as children are encouraged to play with certain toys, they acquire certain personality traits. Boy's toys are much more 'training" based and girl's toys are more "nurturing" based. These society patterns get more and more re-enforced onto children and changes how female and male  brains develop and become different. Professor Georgina Rippon explains that this is why more women become nurses and men engineers and physicists. Television also encourages stereotypes, by advertising certain tasks for each sex.

Her final message is to let children play with any toys they want. Let them figure out what they like and therefore what they choose as a profession when they're adults. Maybe in the future, we won't be able to tell which brain is a man's or which one's a woman's… This professor makes perfect sense, what a brain!

Senate Passes Bill - Prevents Domestic Violence Victims from Being Evicted

The California Senate just passed Bill SB 782, which prevents landlords from evicting domestic violence victims. This new bill will encourage victims to defend themselves and not face eviction from their home. Eviction has discouraged victims, female and male, to file complaints of domestic violence or sexual assault. SB 782 will encourage women to step forward.

Many landlords have a nuisance clause in their rental agreement that allows them to evict tenants if there is a lot of noise, disturbance, police activity or complaints. When landlords evict domestic violence victims, it's like being victimized again by being pressured to move. Many of these domestic violence victims which are mostly women, end up homeless. Under SB 782, landlords would not be allowed to use their lease clause to evict women under these circumstances. Landlords however can evict the perpetrator of the abuse. It should also be stated that the law presently allows a victim to break their lease and go to a victim's shelter if they choose to do so.

SB 782 will protect victims, women or men, from being evicted only if they show a written statement by a qualified third party, such as a police officer, licensed clinical social worker or therapist. The tenant however, will still be responsible for the lease payments and other clauses.
