Did You Hear About Abby Wambach & Her Abuse of Drugs?

One of the best female soccer players in the world, Abby Wambach, came out on Tuesday about her struggles with alcohol and prescription drugs.

Abby Wambach
I'm a big fan of female soccer players and this news just blew me away... You hear about this or that male athlete taking drugs... But when you are a fan of the "American Women's Soccer Team" and find out that one of your best female players, Abby Wambach, was addicted to alcohol and prescription drugs... Well, your enthusiasm just dwindles down to a small turd!

The good news is that she is fighting her addictions and seems to be concurring them. My hope is that other athletes can learn from her mistake and not become addicted to alcohol, prescription or any other kind of dreadful drugs. I realize that sometimes it's hard to maintain your image as an incredible athlete, but it's not worth it, when it can possibly take you six feet under!

2016 U.S. Olympic Women's Soccer Team, So Proud of Each and Every One of Them!

WomenOnGuard.com, are huge fans of the women's USA soccer team. As they said, back in the day, "we've come a long way baby!".

Okey, maybe some of you young women, have never heard the term "we've come a long way baby", but we have! First of all, it's a milestone that women are allowed to play soccer internationally now. Back in the 70's, women's soccer teams were looked upon with a smirk! The game players were considered lesbians or females that had a wanna be men, syndrome... They literally were joked upon! But not anymore!

The game is fun to play. Why wouldn't women want to play a game that is enjoying, athletic and played all over the world? It makes women proud to finally be admired for their athletic strength and teamsmanship! Plus, now us ladies can sit around the TV with snacks and encourage our soccer teams for a GOAL! Instead of having Tubberware parties...

The world is changing for the better. At least when it concern's athletic female players and their admirers. Isn't it about time?

To Play Soccer Can Be As Damaging As American Football When It Comes To Head Injuries

The German soccer player Christoph Kramer had a blow to his head last Sunday, while playing against Argentina for the World Cup.

The World Cub player was checked by trainers after his collision with another team member and was allowed to keep playing. But after fifteen minutes of playing again, he was still not feeling right, so the 23-year-old midfielder had to be helped off the field. Obviously a victim of a head concussion!

It seems like soccer players should take more precautions and not just during the World Cup! They don't tackle each other like in American Football, but they do use their heads for many plays. It would be safer if some rules would change in soccer. An obligatory helmet for each team member to prevent head concussions, comes to mind. Perhaps similar to the ones that bicycle riders use. Not really big or heavy... Let's face it, having a ball hit your head in a soccer game on a continues basis, probably will lead to severe head concussions and mental disabilities!

It would be a huge improvement for present and future World Cup players to have helmets… just saying!
