17% Pepper Spray for Your Personal Defense
We sell many products on our website, but our most popular is the 17% Pepper spray. Maybe you don't know why we call it 17%...
Well, most personal defense spray out there have 10% concentration of pepper heat, while some of the ones we sell have 17%. That is almost twice as hot as other products on the market, which makes it stronger and better for personal defense.
Our Streetwise 17% pepper spray comes in many sizes and shapes. The most popular ones have a key ring with a plastic belt clip and come in hard cases. The soft cases are just as popular, minus the belt clip. Either one of these cases are also available in 8 different colors. We also sell stronger 17% pepper spray that is also disguised! These are very handy because when you pull them out of your purse or pocket, they don't look like a weapon. They are shaped or look like a; lipstick, perfume or a pager. This will confuse and catch a potential attacker, by surprise! Giving you a better opportunity to aim straight into their eyes! Our 17% stronger, personal defense products come in stream, foam or fog. All Streetwise spray contain a UV dye which will invisibly mark an attacker and will enable police to identify them if captured. You can get it in the most common size of 1/2 ounce to all the way up to 1 1/2 lb., huge pistol grip cans! These are perfect for keeping inside your home, to protect against intruders.
So why settle for 10% when you can get 17%!

What is 17% Pepper Spray?
Some people are confused about our mentioning that we carry 17% pepper spray. No, it is not that we carry self defense products and that 17% of our inventory is pepper spray! When we state the name of a pepper spray and include 17%, we are referring to the percentage of the hot substance in the can of some of our pepper sprays or technically speaking the Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) content.
Most of the defense spray we sell have almost TWICE the amount of hot pepper concentration, versus other sprays, out in the marketplace. That's because some of the weapons we sell are made by the StreetWise brand. All of this brand's self defense sprays, have a higher percentage of OC compared to other brands that have only 10%. In fact, StreetWise is working on making their sprays even hotter. They are planning on having 18% concentration pepper sprays, in the near future! We will definitely keep you posted, when this occurs!

If you need more information on the defense sprays we sell or on any other products, please feel free to call us. We are by the phones, most of the time and if not, we usually return calls within the same day.

What You Need to Know About Pepper Spray

Pepper spray has been used by people for hundreds of years. Ancient armies would use it against their enemies. It's naturally powerful and is used for self defense by men and women till this day. Pepper sprays are non-lethal, self defense products and one of the most reasonably priced. A person can purchase pepper spray for as little as $8.25 on the internet.
The most popular pepper sprays are purchased in small 1/2 oz. or 3/4 oz. canisters, in order to conceal them in purses or pockets. The main ingredient in pepper spray is OC or oleoresin capsicum. The OC is derived from Cayenne peppers – some of the hottest peppers in the world. Some brands such as Mace, add extra ingredients to the sprays, such as tear gas. You will also find that some pepper sprays have 10% pepper in their canisters while others have 17% or more. Streetwise brand pepper spray is one of those brands that contains a higher percentage of OC. Some brands also have UV dye to invisibly mark an assailant!
Another important thing you need to know about pepper spray is that most are aerosols, so it is very important when you use them, to make sure you hold the product upright. Just as you would when using hairspray. There are of course some exceptions. A product called Guardian Angel Pepper Blaster, has a system other than that of aerosol pepper spray. In fact, Guardian Angel pepper spray is also very fast, 90 MPH burst, to be exact! It can be sprayed in any angle, not just up right. Since all of these brands are in spray form, you need to keep in mind as well, what environment it will be used in. If you use it outdoors in windy conditions, you might get spray back!
Spray back is an issue that has also been addressed by some manufacturers of pepper spray products. There are some solutions such as pepper foam or pepper gel, introduced to the market. These are heavier substances and therefore less likely to be affected by wind and therefore less spray back. Most popular brands carry these optional heavier pepper sprays. Your options are; liquid, foam, gel or fog.
Finally there is the consideration of concealment. Most pepper sprays have a key ring for convenience and are available in just plain canisters, injection molded hard cases or leatherette cases or holsters. Some however are disguised as other things. You can buy pepper spray that looks like a pen, pager or lipstick container! These pepper sprays have an element of surprise!
