A Few Tips About Pepper Spray

Something as simple as an inexpensive pepper spray container, can dramatically change the outcome of a violent crime. Men sometimes carry these as chains to hold their keys. If men find it useful, women should find it 2, 3 or 10 times more useful for themselves! Simply using a pepper spray that has a quick key release keychain can be very handy. You normally need something to hold your keys anyway, so why not use a pepper spray keychain?

Pepper spray will not kill anyone but it will stop an attacker by making his whole face burn! The irritation is so bad, that his eyes will swell up and shut therefore making him temporarily blind! The pepper spray can make his skin and mucous membranes (nose & throat) so irritated that it can have him coughing and choking. The irritation will last several minutes and give you time to get away.

It is unbelievable that such a simple product can help so much in moments as horrifying as these. But there are also 2 important limitations when using pepper spray and keep these in mind if you ever need it. First, pepper spray works best when sprayed right side up (just remember that your hairspray won't work if you hold it upside down). Second, if there is too much wind it is not recommended to use especially if the wind is blowing against you because you might get sprayed back! Probably the best kind of pepper you can get is Pepper Foam (found under Mace in our website). Pepper Foam works best because it is so thick and sticky that it saturates the attacker's face even in windy conditions. Pepper Foam, like most other pepper sprays, also comes with an identifying orange UV dye that helps police capture an attacker if he escapes because his face will be stained orange as evidence!

No-Contact Self Defense Jacket

Your comments will help us decide if we should sell this jacket on our website!
The No-Contact self defense jacket is a new jacket that may be available to the public in the near future. The jacket's name describes exactly what it does... it does not let you touch the person that is wearing it. Well, you can touch the person but you will get SHOCKED if you do! It's like wearing a stun gun on you. Basically you have a hidden switch in the sleeve that let's you activate it. The good thing about this jacket is that no one will know you have a weapon. The fact that it is worn, makes it less likely for an assailant to grab it from you. It is estimated that the jacket will retail between $600 and $700 and all it needs is a 9 volt battery (just like a stun gun). This is pretty expensive, but considering that it could save your life, it could very well be worth it. Check out the video and let us know if you would consider purchasing one for yourself or someone you love. This sales video is in German, but you can get the idea!

Taser Bracelet for Airplane Safety?

While searching through the Internet today, I came across a video by a company called; Lamperd Firearm Training Systems. This company has a product that it wants to sell to the airline industry, which I think is an insult to human beings.

The product is a bracelet that they claim can replace the tickets handed to passengers by the airlines today. This is not just a bracelet, it would contain all necessary passenger information as well as a tracking device to know exactly where passengers are in the terminal. But that is not all, it also would have the ability to attack a person's central nervous system and make them helpless when zapped. The bracelet would have a taser like effect and subdue potential "hijackers" by having the airline crew carry a radio frequency transmitter that would enable the electric shock!

It is my opinion that this product will NOT FLY! I think if people wore this bracelet, they would feel like a dog with a shock collar on. This would seem like a futuristic horror flick. There is one application that I think it would be useful for and that is; jails and/or prisons...

Killer/Rapist On the Loose in Reno, Nevada

Authorities have been searching for a male rapist turned killer in Reno, Nevada since January 19th. The last victim was Brianna Denison, a 19 year old student from the University of Nevada-Reno.
There were two other victims that the assailant attacked previous to Brianna, but they were fortunate enough to escape.
On Februay 15, Brianna's body was found in a field, about 7 miles from campus. While investigating Brianna's case, authorities were able to match the DNA found in her case with the other 2 victim's cases. The DNA match on all 3 cases was proof that this was a serial rapist/killer search. All three incidents took place within 4 or 5 blocks around the university campus. Police and the FBI also received important details about the attacker from the other 2 victims, which hopefully will help in capturing him.

WomenOnGuard.com Donates Products to Standing Together Against Rape (STAR)

WomenOnGuard.com has chosen this month to donate products to: Standing Together Against Rape (STAR), a program of Lighthouse Counseling Center. STAR is a women's crisis center located in Montgomery, Alabama. They are a 24-hour crisis intervention program that assists sexual assault victims and their families. The staff has qualified master’s level counselors who help victims recover from their traumatic experience by providing individual counseling and emotional support. STAR also provides in-house foren
sic sexual assault exams.
Indian Beach, NC March 17, 2008. WomenOnGuard.com is an e-commerce website that sells non-lethal self-defense products such as Mace, pepper spray, stun guns, the taser C2, personal alarms and home protection products. The site includes hotlines, safety tips, helpful links and a blog. This website, which was started in 2006, is targeted toward women by encouraging them to purchase non-lethal self-defense products instead of deadly weapons. Since women are more often the victims of violent crime, the website also donates 25 products on a monthly basis to a different women’s crisis center around the country.

Shirley Jones, Program Director of STAR, informed WomenOnGuard.com during a phone conversation, that in April they were having an event called “Take Back The Night”. This event is held annually during the month of April which is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The purpose of this rally and candlelight vigil is to bring community members together to raise awareness about sexual assault and take a stand against this horrendous crime! STAR will plan and host several activities during the month of April. One activity will include providing self-defense classes for women. The event will include pepper spray giveaways donated by WomenOnGuard.com.

“We want to point out that March is Women’s History Month”, says Martha Z. Martinez, Co-Owner of WomenOnGuard.com. She goes on to state, “We should especially acknowledge the fact that there is a problem in this country as well as in other countries regarding women being abused, raped or even killed in epidemic proportions. This is in fact why crisis centers such as STAR exist”. She also mentions that women should take their personal safety into their own hands instead of always relying on law enforcement or male figures in their life. Martha says, “Unfortunately most women are physically weaker than men, so they need to carry a self-defense product for their own protection”. One of the most important aspects about the WomenOnGuard.com website is that it sells only non-lethal products to empower women. Susan Eaton, Co-Owner of the website, mentions; “We don’t want to add to crime, we want to prevent it and by using non-lethal means, we avoid having casualties in our society.”

A "Person of Interest" Detained In Shooting Death Of Student Body President

(CBS/AP) Police investigating the slaying of the University of North Carolina's student body president may have a new break in the case.

Durham police detained a person of interest for questioning in the Eve Carson case Wednesday morning and turned him over to Chapel Hill authorities, reports CBS News affiliate WRAL-TV in Raleigh.

Orange County District Attorney Jim Woodall told several media outlets Wednesday that police are talking to a person of interest. He declined to comment further.

Woodall's comment followed an overnight raid in Durham. WTVD-TV broadcast a video Wednesday of a man arrested during a raid in Durham who the station said was later turned over to Chapel Hill police.

Guardian Angel Pepper Spray

WomenOnGuard.com is very exited to introduce their newest product; LifeAct Guardian Angel®, available for ordering now. This unit has a unique encasing to facilitate using it's impressive 90 mph spray that reaches up to 13 feet! Of course it is light, easy to hold and small enough to carry in your purse or fasten to your belt with it's integrated belt clip. The pepper, Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) solution that it contains, travels so fast, it can easily go through an attackers mask, around his glasses and through his clothing. This solution is so powerful that it will penetrate the skin pores, nasal passages and swell the eyes shut. This effect will incapacitate a person for up to 45 minutes. Do to the unit's pyrotechnic drive, the solution shoots so fast that an attacker will not know what hit him. Another benefit of using the LifeAct Guardian Angel® is that the speed and pressure of the spray actually makes it less likely to blow back toward you in windy conditions.
You should also know that the shelf life of the LifeAct Guardian Angel® is 3 years, unlike other pepper sprays that usually last only 1 year. You get a total of 2 shots from the unit and the second shot is just as powerful and fast as the first one. It doesn't matter whether you shoot the 2nd shot 1, 2 or 3 years later.
