It's official, Americans have gotten used to hearing in the news about one shooting or another. Guns with flying bullets at schools, theaters, offices…Latest one was on Monday at Purdue University.

Yet, our government officials, just turn their heads, regarding gun or firearms control. Perhaps it's because of a certain lobbying organization which has a tight grip on congress, regarding firearms. Either way, the killings or shootings are getting worse and we need to do something about it. If we don't, our country's safety will increasingly get worse and crime will be more rampant. Americans seem to have a short memory regarding these heinous firearm crimes. Have they forgotten all those children killed in the Newtown,

Instead of our government increasing the amount of video surveillance, they should pass stiffer laws on gun control. If they don't, our country will look more like Mexico's guerrillas! This statement is not very far fetched, when you consider how much crime there is, for example, on a daily basis in Chicago. Shootings shouldn't be a common event in our country. Firearms or guns, need to be more controlled by our government officials... Hopefully soon, before it reaches the magnitude of Mexico's catastrophe!
