My Favorite Aunt, Minda, Passed A Few Days Ago...

She lived a long life and had a loving soul. I never saw her mad and she was my favorite Aunt since I first met her when I was 3.

I saw her when she came for the first time to Miami to visit us. My aunt had a loving soul and never, ever punished us or yelled at us. She lived in New York and would take trips down to see us in Miami, whenever she could.

My aunt, "Tia Minda", as we called her in Spanish, was very sweet and always had candy and toys for us when she came down to stay with us. She had a beautiful smile and I never ever saw her angry.

One time my mother took us to see Tia Minda in New York where she lived. Of course our aunt, took us to see the city! We went to see Radio City Music Hall, the Statue of Liberty, Museum of the City of New York... She even took us for the first time in our lives to some subway stations. We watched with incredible amazement while the tunnels picked us up and dropped us off!

Needless to say, I will never forget her. Our Tia Minda was a kind soul and I will miss her very much!

New York Taxis Just For Women!

Well men can ride in them too, but only if they're accompanied by a woman passenger. Starting Sept. 16th there will be a new taxi service, catered exclusively for women and driven by women.

This whole thing started because sometimes, women feel intimidated by male drivers, especially when taking a taxi by themselves. The women driver service will be called "SheTaxis". The idea came from Stella Mateo. She is the wife of Fernando Mateo, who started the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers.

SheTaxis will not only cater to women passengers, but it will also employ only women drivers. This will help make more jobs for females in New York! Presently, 5 percent of New York's public transportation drivers are women. To request for a SheTaxis service, it will require an app that only Apple cell phones have, but Android cell phones are supposedly going to include it as well. If all goes well, this service for women will expand to Miami, Chicago and Washington. Plans are to eventually have them in other cities, too!

What do you think about this new transportation service catered for women? Will you request a woman driver, next time you need transportation?

It's Now Legal For New Yorkers To Take Medical Marijuana

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, has passed the measure into law and it will be effective in 18 months.

Photo: NBC Bay Area
But, and this is a big BUT, it will only be available in a vaporized, oil based form or to be ingested. Basically, New York citizens won't be able to smoke medical marijuana. You didn't think it would be "al natural" did ya?

Of course not, Big Pharmaceuticals has to be involved and add other ingredients to this so called drug. Natural plants are harmful for ya… NOT! It's to be expected for this incredible plant to be tampered with by us humans, so that there is some HUGE profit somewhere! What were you thinking…? Government has to have a piece of the action, as well!

I have been a glaucoma patient for about 20 some years now. My glaucoma has been getting worse, to the point that now I take 2 different drops, twice a day! But medical marijuana is not legal yet in Florida and it doesn't seem like it will be, anytime soon. I don't understand, why some drugs can be taken nationally, but something like medical marijuana can't! I guess I will go blind, by the time they pass it here!

Well, just wanted to inform you on what's going on and how many people, like myself, will go blind, before this wonder drug/plant will be legal in the entire USA and not in just 23 States!

A Handicapped Woman was Kidnapped in New York City

This horrible kidnap story from New York has been overlooked by other important news today, yet it doesn't make it any less devastating. A 58 year old New York woman, who is partially paralyzed was coerced by Patrick Donavan and Mae Washington, into leaving her assisted living facility, last January. She has been kidnapped since then. The woman, who's name has not been disclosed, was found malnourished and bruised. Her hands, legs and mouth bound with tape, plus doctors found multiple bone fractures, including a broken arm, several cracked ribs, dislocated shoulder, lacerations throughout her body and malnourishment.

Patrick Donavan and Mae Washington basically convinced her into moving into their home, take care of their dog and told this poor woman, it would be less expensive than living at the facility she was in. They proceeded to lock her in one of their bedrooms, basically kidnapped her, while they have been cashing her social security checks and buying things for themselves. New York authorities charged Patrick Donavan and Mae Washington with kidnapping, assault, unlawful imprisonment and endangering the life of a disabled person. These two can face up to 25 years to life in prison.
